Typically at The Convergent Mind we review released books, however, something incredible has been just released, after 60 years of wait, fear, conspiracies and pain.
That itself is history in the making in a yet to be fully organized book. Nonetheless, we are taking the first step in unravelling what has been released.

There's a LOT to unpack. Here is what we have done so far:
- Created a Mindmap of all crucial element of the released documents
- Built a timeline
- All released content is scanning of 60 years ago photocopy, we have got CLOUD.IA at work and converted all images to plain text. You can find and for yourself here.
- Connect you directly with an AI chat that is made intentionally for the RFK Files.

Theories
There's been plenty of plausible theories, which were such only if you were in the camp of "it can't be us" followed by "it must have been the enemies". As it turned out, it was both!

Our Take
The unredacted JFK assassination files, released as of March 18, 2025, following Executive Order 14176 signed by President Donald Trump on January 23, 2025, provide a wealth of newly accessible information from the President John F. Kennedy Assassination Records Collection.
This collection, maintained by the National Archives, now includes over six million pages of records, photographs, sound recordings, and artifacts, with the latest release on March 18, 2025, adding over 31,000 pages of previously classified documents. Despite this extensive disclosure, the question of who killed President Kennedy and why remains unresolved with definitive proof, though the files offer details that fuel both official conclusions and alternative theories. The official narrative, established by the Warren Commission in 1964, asserts that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in assassinating Kennedy on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas.
The commission concluded that Oswald, a former Marine with a history of defection to the Soviet Union, fired three shots from the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Depository, killing Kennedy and wounding Texas Governor John Connally. The motive, according to the commission, was not conclusively determinedâOswaldâs reasons were âburied with himâ after he was killed by Jack Ruby two days later. The newly released files, including FBI discoveries of 2,400 additional records in February 2025, do not appear to overturn this finding directly. They reinforce Oswaldâs actions with details like his Mexico City visits in September 1963, where he contacted the Soviet and Cuban embassies seeking visas, and CIA monitoring of his activities, yet no concrete evidence of a coordinated conspiracy emerges from these documents to contradict the lone gunman theory outright.
However, the unredacted files have intensified speculation and alternative theories. They reveal previously withheld information, such as CIA surveillance of Oswaldâs mail in 1962 and his interactions with Soviet officials, raising questions about what intelligence agencies knew and why they didnât act. Historians and researchers, like Jefferson Morley, suggest that while the documents donât prove a conspiracy, they expose lapses and possible cover-upsâlike the CIAâs âbenign cover-upâ during the Warren investigation to protect sources and methods.
Theories abound: some point to a coalition involving the CIA, anti-Castro Cuban exiles, and the Mafia, motivated by Kennedyâs policiesâhis push for peace in Vietnam, his handling of the Bay of Pigs fallout, or his administrationâs crackdown on organized crime. Jim Garrisonâs 1960s investigation, for instance, alleged a conspiracy involving New Orleans businessman Clay Shaw and rogue elements, though Shaw was acquitted. The files donât confirm these claims with a âsmoking gun,â but details like Rubyâs Mob ties and intelligence oversights keep such ideas alive.
The why remains elusive. If Oswald acted alone, his motives might tie to personal instability or ideological leaningsâhe was a Marxist sympathizer with a troubled past. If others were involved, motives could range from geopolitical revenge (e.g., Cuba or Soviet retaliation) to domestic power struggles (e.g., CIA or Mafia resentment).
The whop-whop moment
The unredacted records, while rich in contextâoffering memos, surveillance logs, and witness accountsâdonât pinpoint a single culprit or reason beyond Oswald that historians universally accept as proven.
Experts like Fredrik Logevall and Kevin Boyle, cited in recent analyses, argue that while the files add useful details (e.g., Oswaldâs Mexico trip specifics), theyâre unlikely to âdramatically overturnâ the established understanding.
In short, the unredacted JFK files, as of March 18, 2025, confirm Oswaldâs central role but leave room for doubt about accomplices or broader motives. They donât conclusively name who killed Kennedy beyond him or settle why, blending cold hard facts with shadows that keep the debate burning. The truth, it seems, is still a puzzleâpartially illuminated, yet incomplete.
